dystopia What were the signs? I'm pretty new to this stuff (worked for Outlier for 2 years - that was horrible on its own). The debacle with the auditing was certainly strange - how the PMs disappeared and suddenly were told to stop giving any guidance...

I’d recommend DataAnnotation to anyone who hasn’t already been let go or hasn’t failed the test already. It’s a lot different than Mercor, but was good for me until I was let go unexpectedly after 2 years.

Excuse my French, but that was some major bullshit to just end everything (so much for the contract being over at the end of December?) and offering a $15 per hour job instead? VERY disappointed with Mercor.

I thought something was up when the TLs and ePMs seemed to be missing and having a lot of meetings. The weird thing, though, is that not too long ago, I thought things were looking good since they bothered to move everyone over to the new Slack workspace. That seemed like a lot of hassle to go through if things were about to end.

Hello! I made sure to hold on to this link from the old Slack. I did go ahead and make the jump to Nova, but sucks how they made the paycut sound like they "listened." If anyone else's feedback was like mine, my ire was directed mostly at the Client. But offboarding everyone with less than a half-day notice? Now they just made beef with a few thousand more folks. Only plus-side is if there are actually no more pauses at all now, so I can at least grind out a few nights again. Won't surprise me if we end up dealing with pauses again though.

Yeah, the pauses were unsustainable. I haven't been able to get many hours in recently. I think the big lesson learned for me was to have more projects lined up on the side.
